Smile - Complete Boxset


Introduction
I guess a short introduction is called for. I've been sitting on Huxley and Finch for well over ten years now, I always said I'd give myself until I reached 40 to do something with them. I hit 40 last year and this year the world went into lock down. If not now, when?

 It was always envisioned to be released like a TV series, each story split into episodes and released periodically, with a sound track to listen to along with it. It's taken my brain an embarrassing long time to twig a blog format would be the best fit, also because I can embed You Tube videos into each post to include the music tracks as was always intended.

 I will start posting episodes from the second season soon, so here is the complete first season. Just click on the episode you want to read to jump straight to it.

 A few little behind the scenes facts for you:
Christopher and Peter are of course named after the legendary Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. 

 Originally Peter's Brother was named Vincent for obvious reasons, but in the end I decided that name was too good to use on a character who died in the opening moments of the story.

 The Cat Digby is named after a character from an amazing British scifi comic strip first published in the 50's, Dan Dare.

 The line She and her accomplice have stepped into a tale they don't belong in is a silly nod to the fact that Barbara and Betty weren't actually in the original version of this story.

 Smile is set roughly ten years ago, although, time in the world of Huxley and Finch is never completely set in stone.

Smile - Episode Two

The journey to Huxley and Finch’s cottage was a slow and quiet one. Initially it wasn’t too bad for Christopher’s car; but once they reached the country roads of High Hurst wood it began to get much trickier.  The thick falling snow had covered most of the scenery and signposts; and patches of road that were uncovered had become slides of black ice. Christopher thought it was going to take them all day to get there; so it came as a huge surprise when; almost certainly by accident; they came across the gates to Huxley and Finch’s cottage.   The huge iron gates were almost hidden amongst a thick line of trees; gold letters ran along the top spelling the name of the place they had been looking for.
